Third party iOS apps not launching or keeps crashing

Are you frustrated with your iOS device (iPhone, iPod, iPad) because it stopped opening your downloaded apps? If Yes, continue to the rest of the post to lower your frustration. :)

The following steps worked for me on iOS firmware 5.0.1.

Specific App is not loading

Sometimes one app stops working. App fails to launch, It opens and closes immediately. To fix that you have to kill that specific app from the running apps list.

  1. Double press the home button
  2. tap and hold an app in switcher, until apps start shaking
  3. tap on the red sign to kill the app
  4. press home button and try that app again.

None of the downloaded apps work

If you notice that none of the downloaded apps are loading, but all iOS default apps are working fine, then follow the following steps to fix this issue.

  1. Tap on app store
  2. download any paid or free app to install. (I downloaded free weather app)
  3. supply your iTunes credentials
  4. Once new app installation is complete, tap on any third party app
  5. Third party apps will start working now
